Born in Poznań. Graduated from the faculty of Law and Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

Since 2014 he has been Mayor of Poznań.

As the Mayor of Poznan he is responsible for managing current affairs of the City and it’s representation outside. He is in charge of preparing and realising long-term projects concerning the City’s development and the town’s informing policy. He was the first President in Poland to take part in a local Pride Parade.

Privately is a great fan of theatre and poetry of Jacek Kaczmarski. His passion is sport, particularly boxing, cycling, and cross-country skiing with which he is also related as a member of the International Ski Federation’s Committee.
